Forest lurker

April 10, 2012 Leave a comment

Hat’s off to all the great macrophotographers out there – no other photographic technique frustrates me more :/ – I guess shooting handheld doesn’t make it any better. Anyways, as it happened I was out yesterday to shoot a couple of spring-themed shots when I spotted this spider on a nearby tree.

Tack sharp, Nikkor 50mm 1.8

Although I love the telezoom for sheer diversity, nothing beats a prime lens for sharpness, this photo was taken using Nikons affordable 1.5 1.8 lens. No post-sharpening has been applied.

Time to bury Christmas?

December 11, 2008 3 comments

… or atleast the Christmas tree…

Nowadays we have a plastic christmas tree – although I miss the smell of an actual fir I dont miss getting fir-needles in my feet..

We managed to get the tree up but before anyone even had time to even mention decorating it – it had been scaled by our resident Australian – and he had no intention whatsoever on coming down.. instead he treated the fake tree as his own hunting ground… …  seeing the glint in his eyes we’ve now decided to put the tree back in its box..
