Needlebinding
A technique that predates knitting – using only one needle ; it’s very useful for making things that need to be durable like socks and mittens. An advantage over knitting is that a dropped stitch will not run.
here are a few examples made by my wife:

I cannot quite remember what year I took this photo… 2006? 2007? 960?, Off topic… recently I have started submitting this blog to http://alphainventions.com/ , as I result I have discovered several interesting blogs – and a few people have discovered mine.

Old Norse Runestones and more Windmills
Today I made a local mini-expedition – aiming to get a few photos for this blog. Here are the results:
I read today that there are about 150 remaining Windmills in Scania , here are two of them; (in addition to the three I shot a while ago).
Also I paid a visit to Tullstorp , where this 11th century runestone is located, the inscription reads: “Kleppir/Glippir ok Ása reistu kuml þessi eptir Ulf” (Kleppir/Glippir and Ása raised this monument in memory of Ulfr.)
