Shooting water droplets is a very frustrating business , focusing in particular is pretty hard - still every now and then I try.
Weight approx 5,5 kg and and approx 20-22 cm at the longest part. This was found while digging in till to get landfill material. It displays the charateristic cracks and fusion crust of a meteorite – and is suprisingly heavy for its size. It was found in Näsum in Southern Sweden. When hovering a small magnet in a thread it is slightly attracted to the rock.
Below is a loose fragment (approx 6 cm) showing the light-grey core of the stone and the darker crust.
This is a closeup of the surface (after sanding it briefly) – in the background is the blue head of a matchstick.
The amazing Woman of Willendorf, approx 22,000 years old and perhaps the world’s most famous venus figurine
it was awe-inspiring just to stand so close to it.
Since it , in the very title of my blog, says “LaPerm owner” . Here are two more LaPerm cats; our beloved Bysen, shot but 30 minutes ago (the photo that is , not the cat ) and Bubblecut.
The LaPerm or “La Perm” came from a spontaneous mutation found on a cherry farm in The Dalles ,Oregon, USA in 1982. More info can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaPerm.
